Location of Cofton Holidays

Cofton Holiday and Touring Park is located just 10 miles from Exeter and about 15 miles from Torquay.

It is also just 15 miles from the edge of the Dartmoor National Park.

This means it is a great place to explore that corner of the world.

The stunning Devon coast and beach

Customer Service and Staff

Really nice staff, and great customer service.

I was seen quickly in reception, and shown to my pitch promptly, although it was quiet. When I plugged in, I found my electricity was not working. After a bit of trial and error, and a bit of testing and time spent with a warden from the site, it turned out the problem was with my van!! 🙂

We fixed it, and all was well. Definitely a thumbs up for Customer Service.

Reception Area and Shop

The reception area was right in the middle of the construction, but it was functional, if not a little small.

I can imagine in the height of summer this could get busy, but perhaps they have some expansion earmarked.

The shop was big and stocked all the essentials and a little more.

Showers and Toilets

The shower and toilets are modern and warm. The hot water came through quickly, and the water ran for some time after the button was pressed, so that is always welcome!

I think if I was being super picky, I would have liked a couple more pegs, but the fold-away seat is a nice addition. Toilets and sinks are as you would expect.

General Cleanliness

No complaints. Amenities, showers Elsan unit, etc all clean, and tidy.

No littler, and pitches were well kept, as you would expect from a Premier Park.

Facilities

The washing-up area was nice and tidy. Clean, and with plugs.

It was not super hot water though, and you could easily run your hand under the tap even at its hottest. A bit hotter would have been good for those greasy BBQ pans and utensils.

There is a tackle shop for the fishermen to grab anything they run out of.

And if you are one of the few there is even a small room with a payphone for those with no mobile phone.

There is also an extremely well-appointed launderette, like one you would find in the high street.

For those that need to empty their loo, there is an Elsan point or ELSON point as they call it.

Plus of course, lots of bins for your waste

Leisure

There are lots of Devon Holiday Park’s, and many won’t be as well equipped as this one.

Not far from the reception are the bar, restaurant, and pool areas.

It’s great the bar area is near the pool, so if the kids are old enough to play on their own, the parents can enjoy their drinks, while not being too far away.

The bar itself has a country pub-type feel, with local beers as well as all the usual drinks. I was enjoying a pint of Devon Rock.

Just alongside the bar and near the pool, is the entrance to some of the other entertainment.

They have a bowling alley, games room, and pool on offer.

There is also a venue called the Warren Retreat, providing the evening entertainment, but that only opens from Easter, so it was closed during my stay.

Their website says this lively spacious room has a bar, dance floor, and as well as evening meals and Sunday Roasts, features evening entertainment including quizzes and gameshows, audience participation, karaoke, and children’s discos.

There are also live performances with cabarets every night from 9.00 pm.

Up the stairs, there is a cafe called Amelias, which has views over the indoor pool.

On the touring side of the road, near the shower block and laundrette is a Fish and Chip shop, so you have the chance for a takeaway back the van if desired.

And finally, there is a children’s play park, again on the touring side. I guess my only real grumble is that this is some way from the rest of the leisure facilities. Awkward perhaps if you have younger ones that need supervising.

Cofton Holidays – Other Highlights

They have luxury lodges, a resident donkey, and of course a sea of static caravans to hire.

I think on one side of the road they also have more tent pitches too. It is worth pointing out I only explored really half the park. There is a lot more space on this side, and if you want to explore even more, then why not check out their website.

Conclusion of this Devon Holiday Park

With static caravans, ample touring, and luxury holiday lodges there is accommodation to suit everyone.

Add to that an indoor and outdoor pool, fun, and games, plus an amazing adventure trail that opens in Spring 2022, is Cofton Holidays the perfect touring and family getaway.
