Snapshot Review of Haycraft CAMC Site

Tidy, large pitches set in the beautiful Dorset countryside. Roads leading to the site are a little narrow, as is often the way.

This is a quiet site, with the nearest village / pub a couple of miles away.

Roads are narrow and a bit busy, so not advisable for cycling with young children.

However, staff were great, and pitches large and well kept,

Location of Haycraft Caravan & Motorhome Club Site

Less than 4 miles from Swanage, and with easy access by car to the Jurassic coast.

The beaches at Swanage and the history at Corfe are all within easy reach. As are the other places of interest around Swanage.

If you want to view Corfe Castle from afar, then be sure to have a cold drink in the garden of the Scott Arms, in Kingston.

The views are incredible and accompany your chosen tipple perfectly.

Customer Service and Staff

No complaints here.

I think we only spoke to two people that worked at the park. The lady on check-in, and a man who helped when we couldn’t unplug our electric cable (our fault)

Showers and Toilets

Of course, we couldn’t fully review the Showers and Toilets here at Haycraft Caravan and Motorhome Club Site.

The showers were not open at the time of our visit due to COVID, but the toilets were. They seemed adequate, and looked clean, neat and tidy.

I am afraid I can’t say much more than that

General Cleanliness at Haycraft Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

Good. Zero complaints. The place was clean and tidy.

The washing up area was clean.

Toilets were closed I think twice a day for a thorough clean.

The Bin area was immaculate, and the Chemical Toilet disposal area looked was one of the cleanest we have seen!

Facilities

Minimal here. A small shop open for a few hours a day. A Play area, and a dog walking area.

That is really it. If you want a play park, a pool, a bar and an arcade, then this site isn’t for you, but if you want a peaceful quiet break and are self sufficient, then this site would be perfect.

Pitches – Spacious, and tidy. Fire regulations meant we could not pitch up on the grass, but that wasn’t a problem, as they were big enough. Similarly, the grass pitches seemed decent, with electric options to

Laundry – Onsite, but we didn’t use as we were only there for one day

Washing Up -Very good. Clean large sinks, with plugs!! Hot water, although they were outdoors, so worth bearing in mind in the colder months.

Play Field – Just to be clear, this is just a field. There is no park, with swings etc. The field is massive, but the grass was long, so tough for any kind of Ball game. However, this is a minor gripe.

Play Field for children and families

Dog Walking Area – A big large field with perfect surroundings for both dog and walker to enjoy

Football in the dog walking area. We moved when we realised!!

Conclusion

We may return to this Haycraft Caravan and Motorhome Club Site, but perhaps when we are more content to sit around the campervan soaking up the atmosphere. Tough to do with a 6-year-old.

At the moment we prefer somewhere we can safely cycle, and perhaps a pub or two within walking distance.

Having said that, we would definitely recommend this site if you wanted a quiet base to explore all that Swanage and the Jurassic Coast has to offer.
