Here is our review of Longleat Campsite, a Caravan and Motorhome Club Site. As with all our reviews here, and what we want to achieve on this site, we only review the campsites we have stayed at, so you know you are getting an honest opinion from honest campers.
This is a review based on our visit in April 2025. Totally independent and not sponsored or influenced by the campsite in any way.

Location of Longleat Campsite
Longleat Campsite is near, in fact right next door to, Longleat Safari Park. This makes it a perfect stopover for those in their Leisure Vehicles to stay.
It is a 10 minute drive from the campsite to the main entrance of Longleat. Although you could walk there in the same time using a route that connect the campsite to the Safari Park
There are other places of interest to see nearby, including the city of Bath, and the historic Nunny Castle.

Customer Service and Staff
The staff at the Longleat Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite were helpful and easy to talk to.
When I had to query the WiFi, and how bad it was, they explained it was purely because they were full, and everyone was using it.
Check in was simple, the only other time we had to talk to them was in relation to the games room and when we wanted to hire pool cues. Again, very friendly and happy to help.

Showers and Toilets
2 shower blocks, with 5 showers in each of the Male and Female toilets. For a campsite with 165 pitches, 10 male and 10 female showers is not a great deal. On the two mornings we were there, the first morning I was lucky to get the last cubicle. The second morning was ok as I was in the before 7am, so it was not too busy.
Suzanne on the other have, had to wait and queue on both days to get a cubicle. This isn’t ideal, and it would be a good idea if they had a few more cubicles, perhaps another block somewhere.
Mens toilets were fine. The only downside was, as it was wet, and there was a lot of footfall, the floor did get dirty quite quickly. The ladies I think had an issue with litter. Not really the campsites fault, as the people leaving the litter lying around should know better.
However, perhaps they could have a thorough clean plus a lighter clean each day.

Other Amenities
There is an Elsan unit, which is outdoors and when I views, was clean and tidy. Bins are situated outside of the campground, near the entrance. There are no longer various bin areas around the site, so there is more of a walk to drop rubbish.
Washing up area was ok, although sinks were a little low. The laundry though, was a late spacious area and is more than suitable.
For the Younger Ones
Theree is a play park, which is pretty standard for campgrounds these days. Longleat Campsite though have gone a step further, and have a Family Games Room, consisting of a Pool Table, Table Tennis, and a giant Connect Four game.
Outside, on the grass is a large Draughts set, along with, I think, a boules pitch.
Cues (for a small refundable deposit) and table tennis balls (to buy) are available from Reception
Phone Signal and Wifi at Longleat Campsite
Our mobile service provider is Sky, and we had virtually no signal for all the time we were there. Occasionally it gave us a glimmer of 3G, but as quickly as the signal came, it went again.
There was free club WiFi, but as mentioned above it wasn’t great. Due to how busy the campground was, and how many people appeared to be using it, we were never successful in getting online until the last day when most people started to leave.
Then, things improved and we did get online.
Longleat Campsite – Conclusion
We liked the space on the pitches, and the location. The games room was a nice addition, and past a couple of hours with Max while the weather was grotty.
The facilities are average but adequate, as discussed above. If we were purely going to Longleat Safari Park, we would return. If, however, we were visiting other places, we would probably look for another site.
