Here is our review of Red Shoot Campsite in the New Forest. As with all our reviews here, and what we want to achieve on this site, we only review the campsites we have stayed at, so you know you are getting an honest opinion from honest campers.
This is a review based on our visit in March 2025, and is totally independent and not sponsored or influenced by the campsite in any way.

Location of Red Shoot Camping Park
Red Shoot Camping Park is a campsite in the New Forest, not far from Ringwood.
It is in a great spot if you like walks and hikes but what sold it for us was its proximity to the Red Shoot Inn.
It shares its grounds with the pub, in fact, you have to drive through the pub car park to enter the campsite.
Range of Facilities
- Toilets & Showers
- Small Shop
- Shop On-site
- Small Play Area
- Pub Next Door
Customer Service and Staff
The staff at Red Shoot Campsite were welcoming and polite. We didn’t need to get out of the van on arrival, as we were met at Reception
Every time we met a member of staff in and around the park, they were always chirpy, and happy to say hello.
Showers and Toilets
Push button showers which I do not like. I get the idea that it no doubt saves water. However, if water saving is a concern, then perhaps there should be plugs for the washing-up sinks.
If you do not take either your own plug or your own bucket, you are forced to wash up under either cold or hot running water. This would surely use more water than being able to put a plug in and fill the sink once.
Back to the showers…..I may have been unlucky, but the push button on the cubicle I used, if pushed in too far, resulted in no water coming out. As the button slowly eased out, it seemed to find a sweet spot, and water came out.
When it did come out though, it was hot, and powerful, so no complaints from that side of things.
Conclusion of Red Shoot Campsite
Despite my odd moan above, I would definitely revisit this site. The shower issues were more than bearable.
The attitude of the staff, and the location means it would definitely be considered if we wanted a quick stop and somewhere close by to eat.
