Wilksworth Caravan Park Review – April 2021

Here is our review of Wilksworth Caravan Park. As with all our reviews here, and what we want to achieve on this site, we only review the campsites we have stayed at, so you know you are getting an honest opinion from honest campers. This is a review based on our experiences, totally independent and not sponsored or influenced by the campsite in any way.

If you haven’t been camping since the Coronavirus restrictions were lifted, then this post may help you when understanding what to expect.

Snapshot Review of Wilksworth Caravan Park

A decent size park with quite a few pitches, although some on the grass seem quite close together.

The Executive pitch was executive as it has water, electric and drainage, and not because of the size.

Our trip was tarnished by noise campers playing music and children playing until 1:30am.

Location – 8 / 10
Customer Service – 9 / 10
Showers / Toilets – 8 / 10
Cleanliness – 9 / 10
Facilities – 9 / 10

Please remember this is a review based on our experience, and what we like and dislike.

We also wanted to try this site out, as we really loved Shorefield Merley Court site (link to my YouTube video), but they decided to close this to touring, and this was the next closest.

Location of Wilksworth Caravan Park Review

Situated a couple of miles north of the pretty town of Wimborne Minster.

Wilksworth Caravan Park is 12 miles to the beaches of Bournemouth, and 25 miles to Lyndhurst, in the heart of the New Forest.

Customer Service and Staff

Wilksworth Caravan Park

Reception staff really helpful and polite, and very easy to talk to.

There was an issue with receiving a text message which would have enabled our arrival, but the lady on reception was more than helpful when we checked in.

Showers and Toilets

Typical showers and toilets. They were a little dated, but fully functional and no complaints.

Unfortunately, the main indicator of the Shower block for me, are the actual showers. We couldn’t test these unfortunately as they are closed until May 17th.

General Cleanliness

There were no complaints, and all areas of the park seem well maintained.

The shower block appeared to be cleaned regularly, and the sink areas, the water tap areas and the chemical toilet disposal points were as clean as you would expect

Facilities

This review of Wilksworth Caravan Park cannot be complete without a mention of the facilities, particularly for children.

A play park, tennis courts, football pitch, volleyball court, basketball hoop and their website even mentions a BMX track, although I must admit I didn’t see this.

I also wonder how many people would take a BMX camping, but perhaps any bike will doing!!

There is also a pool, although this was closed and in the process of being refurbished. When open, it looks like it will be a really nice place to sun away the afternoon.

Conclusion of Wilksworth Caravan Park

This is a decent park, with lots to keep the children entertained, and a very well stocked shop should you run out of anything.

There were a couple of gripes, mainly the noisy campers and the cosy grass pitches, but this is based on what I like and dislike not forget, and I am just giving you my honest review.
