Below, you will find our thoughts on this product. Both the good and not so good. There will be a video coming soon as well. This will highlight all the points we mention below.

In the meantime, I hope you found this useful.

Detailed Review of this Cadac Camping Gas Stove

First Impressions

The Cadac 2 Cook 2 Pro is well packaged and includes a nice carry case.

In the main pocket, is the camping stove itself. There is a side pocket for the Griddle and Hotplate, although the flap on this could be a tiny bit bigger to get a secure fastening on the velcro.

Flap closes easier if the hotplate is put against the stove itself, and not the legs.

The stove is well made, and when the lid is up, it acts as a wind deflector. However, we feel a trick was missed, as perhaps they could have added a couple of flaps that hinge out from the sides, to shield the side from the wind. Similar to the Outwell Rukutu Stove.

As a result, we have had to purchase an additional wind deflector to help with this.

Gas Connection

The Gas connector is on the right-hand side and is ready to just attach a gas hose with the relevant clip. It does also come with a spanner, which is handy as we removed this, and added our own quick-release thumb screw.

This means, we can transfer one gas bottle easily between the Cadac 2 Cook 2 Pro and our original Safari Chef 2, if needed.

Don’t forget, this is a reverse thread, so to loosen you’ll need to turn clockwise.

Lighting the Cadac 2 Cook 2 Pro

Once the Gas is connected and turned on safely at the bottle, it is a simple push-button ignition.

The dial turns easily to the Full Gas setting, and t is just a case of pushing the ignitor button. The same button works for both rings.

Due to the lightweight construction of this particular Cadac Camping Stove, if you just push the button, it is likely to slide on the table.

As a result, you need to make sure you hold it with your fingers, as you push the button.

Using the Stove

Once lit, you have a few options. The stove comes with two rings on the burners. It has two pan stands/trivets so you can use two pans at the same time.

Alternatively, it comes with a smooth, and griddled hot plate. This means you can mix and match as you please.

The pan stands are 23cm / 9″ in diameter, so they can take decent size pans. We have used one ring for a large, one-pot paella style dish to cook a one-pot pasta dish.

The hotplates are 25cm / 10″ square, so plenty of room for burgers, etc. Both the pan stands and the hotplates have rubber feet which prevent them from sliding.

Cleaning

Most of the surfaces of the Cadac 2 Cook 2 Pro are easy to clean. The rings and the hotplates are removable, so they can be cleaned easily.

This also gives good access to around the burner area, to be able to clean thoroughly too.

If you are using the quick-release thumbscrew, or something similar, a suggestion would be to turn it off at the bottle, then turn the ring on to let any gas in the hose escape. Finally, remove the hose from the side of the stove.

This means there will be no gas or pressure in the hose when you unscrew it.

Summary and Verdict of the Cadac 2 Cook 2 Pro Review

This Cadac Camping Gas Stove is a good size. Easy to use, easy to store, and easy to clean. If you are a lover of gas cooking options, and you need something small, light and easy to store, then this could be the one for you.

The flexibility of being able to use pans and hotplates in different combinations is an advantage. This will give you a great range of what you can cook at the same time.

We like this, and think we will get many years of good use from it.
